Samsung Galaxy J1 is a 4.3-inch smartphone marketed at affordable 109,90 euros. For that price, it features a dual heart 1.2GHz, 4GB of expandable memory, two image sensors 5 and 2 megapixel camera and a 1850 mAh battery. The device uses Android Kitkat (4.4).

Image and sound: small resolution, small size

Obviously, on a branded smartphone, and entry (to the low-cost limit), you can not expect to have an HD screen ...
And it's good, because we are far.

So here we have a small 4.3-inch screen (and say that the first iPhone had a 3.5-inch screen).
Which has a resolution of 480p.

However, the image quality is good (for this type of screen).
They even manage to comfortably watch a video.

And in terms of sound, nothing to report.
In fact, the J1 works wonders on this point.

Display: 4.3 inches (aa) with WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels) or so a 217ppp density.

3. Performance: weak, too weak

"Mobile cheap" usually rhymes with "low-performance mobile."

However, the limited memory of this mobile bring to the quickly saturate (without it not generatefreeze ).

Another point when speaking of performance, one of the components.
Except for reasons of cost, I absolutely do not see why Samsung decided to take a processor of an obscure brand such as Spreadtrum, while there good and affordable Mediatek processors.

This causes besides a systematic planting of 2 applications benchmarks we use, namely Antutu and Epic Citadel.
(Yet Antutu is not the kind of application crashing on smartphones that we tested)

Another point that bothers us all the same: the storage memory.
The latter is low (which only 4GB 2,2Go exploitable) that will soon be full, and will require you to install a micro SD card (not included).

4. Connectivity: alas, no 4G, but good 3G

Again, mobile requires very entry level, no 4G.
But however, it has 3G, HSPA + (3G + so).

WiFi is also, bluetooth, aGPS / GLONASS, a micro SD slot, a slot for SIM card, an FM Radio tuner, etc.

The fussiest remark, besides the lack of 4G, the lack of NFC and infrared.

Connectivity is neither a good thing nor a bad thing for this phone, it is something quite standard and usual on a mobile very entry level in 2015.

5. Operating system: Android overcoated

As always, Samsung has placed on this mobile "Galaxy" Android operating system (note: allGalaxy are Android).
An effective system that has not been updated, and therefore remained in version 4.4 "KitKat" (do not expect also no update to Android 5.0 in passing "Lollipop").

An ultra-known operating system and user controlled, and therefore has the overcoat "TouchWiz".
An overlay that has improved and improved over time.

As for the autonomy of this phone, although the battery may seem very small and low capacity, this phone overcomes blithely day before recharging.
This is undoubtedly the against-part positive a few powerful mobile and with a little greedy 480p screen.

Finally, for the photo, 5MP back camera sensor is honorably fate ... if we take into consideration that this is a small sensor.
Do not expect to do so impressive photos, but the quality will be correct for what this mobile.
